About AM Buffer

Built for the moment after the alarm.

AM Buffer exists to move one difficult decision out of the morning: whether to open the apps that can take over your attention before the day has properly begun.

The product rationale

Why AM Buffer exists

The problem with morning scrolling is not a lack of awareness. The problem is timing. The choice happens while you are half-awake, with a familiar feed one tap away and the rest of your routine still requiring effort.

AM Buffer is being built to let you make that choice the night before. You choose the distracting apps and the length of the protected window. When you dismiss your alarm, the buffer begins while the essential parts of your phone remain available.

The product is in pre-launch development and is planned for both iOS and Android. Joining the waitlist does not claim that an app is available today.

A small, useful experiment

The three-morning method

This is a practical product exercise, not a clinical protocol or medical treatment. Its purpose is to test one realistic setup before making the rule stricter.

  1. 01
    Find the doorway

Name the one or two apps that usually start the scroll.

  2. 02
    Choose a short window

Start with 15–30 minutes after waking.

  3. 03
    Set it before bed

Make the decision before the half-awake moment arrives.

  4. 04
    Name the replacement

Choose one concrete first action away from the feed.

  5. 05
    Repeat three times

Keep the same setup for three mornings before judging it.

  6. 06
    Adjust one variable

Change the app list, duration, or replacement—not everything at once.

How AM Buffer creates its guides

AM Buffer publishes the guides on this site. Because the guides discuss the same problem our product is being built to address, we make that relationship visible instead of presenting ourselves as an independent reviewer.

  • Answer the immediate question first.Useful steps come before the product invitation.
  • Use primary sources for platform instructions. We link to Apple, Google, or another original source when describing current controls.
  • Separate what exists from what is planned.Native phone features and AM Buffer’s pre-launch behavior are labelled distinctly.
  • Do not manufacture authority. We do not publish invented testimonials, results, ratings, or scientific claims.
  • Show who published and when it changed.Guides carry an AM Buffer byline and a visible update date.
